Ghaziabad police arrested three individuals, including a woman, for allegedly attempting to extort Rs 10 crore from a local builder. The accused were former business associates and employees of the victim.
Four persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of local Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Pandit, police said on Wednesday, claiming that the killing was the result of an "old enmity".
In a special campaign from April 2017 till July 2021, 13,801 cases were lodged under the Gangster Act and 43,294 accused arrested, while the National Security Act was invoked against 630 people, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar said.
